About

I grew up in Yorkshire, with Haworth and the Brontë Parsonage on my doorstep, which sparked early ambitions to make my career in writing and publishing.

After reading Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, I worked at Blackwell’s in Oxford and taught French before starting my first job in-house in children's publishing.

Since 2003 I’ve run my own successful small business as a freelancer, enjoying the opportunity to work with a wide network of inspiring editors, writers and illustrators.

I trained in copy-editing, proofreading and commissioning at the Publishing Training Centre in London, and I am an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
